Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project - Joyful Living in Central & Western District

District:Central and Western

Organisation:The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council Nga Yin Association Neighbourhood Elderly Centre

Key components:

1. Recruit persons aged 60 or above and unleash their talents through different platforms:
  • Promotion and community activities: To share their opinions on community facilities to district organisations, and promote the concept of age-friendliness and recommend improvement areas to management offices of buildings and shops.
  • Care for older people: arrange visits to elderly homes in the community or conduct home visits to elderly households by the senior volunteers to play brain training games or enjoy music activities.
  • Technology classes for older people: To provide information technology workshops and courses for the elderly in order to strengthen their communication and information exchange.

2. Organise finale event to showcase the programme achievements and encourage the elderly to continue taking part in social and civic activities.
