Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project – Home Modification and Safety Project (Hong Kong South and West, Sham Shui Po, Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long and Lantau Island)

Organisation:The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council

Key components:
  • Recruit elderly people living in Hong Kong South and West, Sham Shui Po, Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long and Lantau Island who are in need of home modification services through elderly service units and promotion booths.
  • Organise promotion booths and workshops to promote age-friendly home.
  • Conduct home visits to the elderly in need by programme workers and occupational therapists to assess the scope of improvement work.
  • Carry out home modification or improvement work (e.g. installing home devices, improving home hygiene) by contractor and follow up cases that need further assistance.
