Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project - Integrated Farm

Organisation:The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups  (Tsuen King Youth S.P.O.T)

Key components:
  • Organise activities under the theme of intergenerational harmony, and use planting as a means to connect elderly people, young people and community members for promoting communication and understanding across different generations.
  • Conduct visits to singleton elderly and older people at elderly homes in the district by the elder and young ambassadors, and distribute plants and gardening tools and teach them how to take care of the plants.
  • Organise experiential camps for young volunteers to experience the lives of older people living alone or at elderly homes.
  • Organise sharing sessions and arrange roving truck to disseminate the programme achievements, information on age-friendliness and social inclusion in the community, as well as produce videos for online promotion.
