Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project - 「Life.Healthy」An Integrative Body-Mind-Spirit Intervention for Building Friendship between the Elderly and Youth

District:Sha Tin

Organisation:The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Lung Hang Youth S.P.O.T.

Key components:
  • Conduct a talk on “Life.Healthy Body-Mind-Spirit” for the elderly in Sha Tin to understand the Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project, the eight domains of age-friendliness, and the relationship between healthy body-mind-spirit and age-friendliness.
  • Organise mental health first-aid courses to train the elderly and young people to become body-mind-spirit health ambassadors in the district, and encourage them to show care to their neighbours and develop programmes on mutual help. The elderly and young people also learn photography and video-taking skills so that they can use photos and videos to promote the messages of healthy body-mind-spirit and the vitality of mutual help in the neighbourhood.
  • Invite the elderly to take up the liaison and coordination roles of the programme, so that they can utilise and apply their experiences to the regular activities on healthy body-mind-spirit in the future, show care for the elderly in need in the district, and encourage them to respond to challenges with a positive and optimistic attitude.
