Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project - Wan Chai District Home Sweet Home Programme for the Elderly

Key components:
  • Conduct simple home improvement work for the needy elderly residents aged 60 or above living in Wan Chai, including installation of handrails, raised toilet seats, multi-level shelves, flashing light doorbells, anti-slip bath mats, normal doorbells and flush toilets, in order to increase the home safety and living quality of the elderly beneficiaries.
  • Conduct home visits to elderly households by volunteers to take photos for assessment of home living environment and give out souvenir packs, and interview the elderly beneficiaries after the maintenance work to understand the programme effectiveness.
