Ambassador Activity – Introduction to Age-friendly Living Environment in Sham Shui Po

The professional support team of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University used an example of Japan to introduce the basic concept of age-friendly living environment to participants. The team has planned 11 routes covering the neighbourhoods in Sham Shui Po, Cheung Sha Wan and Shek Kip Mei. In the group discussion and sharing session, participants shared their favourite places and facilities on the route map,  their everyday life patterns and the supporting resources available in the neighbourhoods. The details of the activity are as follows:      

Session 1
Date: 21 July 2017 (Friday)
Venue: Sik Sik Yuen Ho Kin District Community Centre for Senior Citizens

Session 2
Date: 27 July 2017 (Thursday)
Venue: Caritas Cheung Shing Fung District Elderly Centre (Sham Shui Po)

Session 3
Date: 1 August 2017 (Tuesday)
Venue: The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council Sham Shui Po District Elderly Community Centre

 Programme content:

  1. Introduction of Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project and the eight domains of age-friendly city
  2. Introduction of the concept of age-friendly living environment with a reference to a visual scheme established by the Osaka Municipal University
  3. Group discussion and sharing - Indicating favourite places and facilities on the route map
  4. Introduction of next activity of site visit and briefing on the objective, routes and content of site visit
