Ambassador Activity – Home Arrangement and Decoration Contest – What is a Quality Home Environment? (Yau Tsim Mong)

The professional support team of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has organised two sessions of an activity on “Home Arrangement and Decoration Contest”. In the activity, participants were given an imitated living space of 70 square feet of a public housing flat unit and asked to arrange and decorate a home living environment which could not only accommodate simple furniture and a large amount of home necessities but also provide space for activities. Through the activity, it is hoped to discuss with the participants the criteria of age-friendly home interior and arouse their awareness on the needs for mobility, home safety, recreation, social network and social support in home interior design. The views collected will provide insights for further improvement on elderly home living and help promote the development of age-friendly home interior. The details of the activity are as follows:
