Ambassador Activity – Training Workshop (2) (Kwun Tong)
A one-day workshop was held in Hong Kong Christian Service - Bliss District Elderly Community Centre with 14 participants in attendance on 9 May 2016 (Monday). Content of the workshop included:
- Introducing the concept and eight domains of age-friendly city (AFC), with the characteristics of public space and field observation in Kwun Tong
- Sharing on the topic of elderly employment by two speakers, including a former member who studied a massage course in Employees Retraining Board to share her learning experience, and a social worker of Gingko House to share the alternatives of elderly employment
- Discussing the employment opportunities for the elderly and related challenges
- Discussing the portrayed image of the elderly in the media through local and overseas advertisements, including themes of decline in physical and cognitive function, loneliness and dreams
Participants’ knowledge about the AFC concept has been enhanced through participating in the workshop.
