Jockey Club Institute of Ageing

The CUHK Jockey Club Institute of Ageing (IoA) was established in 2014 to overcome the challenges brought by the ageing population to Hong Kong. With the vision to make Hong Kong an age-friendly city in the world, IoA will synergize the research personnel and efforts on ageing across disciplines to promote and implement holistic strategies for active ageing through research, policy advice, community outreach and knowledge transfer.

The University of Hong Kong
Sau Po Centre on Ageing

Sau Po Centre on Ageing is a multidisciplinary centre committed to improving the quality-of-life for older people through research and knowledge exchange activities. Since inception in 1999 under the auspices of the Faculty of Social Sciences, The University of Hong Kong, the Centre has contributed significantly to the development of long term care policy and practice in Hong Kong through its policy research and consultancy with various government departments and major nonprofit making organizations. The Centre leads the development of ageing research and education in Asia through its close collaboration with partners in the mainland China and other Asian countries. The multidisciplinary team of researchers in the Centre is conducting cutting edge research in various aspects of gerontology, such as long term care policy, care management, ageing in place, social security and financial security of older people, health care for older people, end of life care, aged-friendly community, and active ageing.

Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies

Based in Lingnan University, Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS), founded in 1998, is a prospering Research Centre which has always been a pioneering and leading institute in the fields of gerontology in Hong Kong and in the Asia-Pacific region. With a high-caliber team expertized in research and course development, APIAS continually contributes to the facilitation and promotion of studies and services related to the ageing population, in which our achievements are well appraised amongst academies, communities and authorities. Rooted in the community, we promote “active ageing” and “intergenerational harmony” to create “a society for all ages”
